This test measures the levels of lipids in the blood. It is important to obtain and maintain a healthy level of lipids in the body. If your cholesterol is high then the extra cholesterol can be left in the walls of the blood vessels. This will narrow the vessels and eventually block them and lead to heart issues such as stroke and heart disease.
